Every time you feel in God's creatures something pleasing and attractive, do not let your attention be arrested by them alone, but, passing them by, transfer your thought to God and say: "O my God, if Thy creations are so full of beauty, delight and joy, how infinitely more full of beauty, delight and joy art Thou Thyself, Creator of all!

Chicken Rainbow

I love watching our pullets and cockerels doing their chicken thing. It really relaxes me for some reason. It's just one of those things I find so enjoyable. I love this particular batch of chicks because they make such and exciting rainbow of chicken colors. Who can spot and identify the most chicken breeds in these photos? :

  2. We watch "Chicken TV" here on a daily basis. We've also got a special on, "Peepers" as our indubator eggs just hatched.

    Love them birdies!

  3. Whadda good lookin' bunch of peeps! You know what I always think about when watching our chickens? All those gloriously healthy, fresh eggs you can do so much with! Yay for the homegrown chicken flock.

(I once read of a man kept in a prison of war camp and all he was fed was hard boiled eggs . . . and he survived in better shape than you might have expected. Yes, the incredible, edible egg!)

  5. Yep, chickens and eggs are amazing, and chickens are so entertaining. I'm surprised no one took the bait and tried to figure out the breeds. I would have been all over that, being one who loves (for some strange reason) tests of strange trivial knowledge and personality tests of all kinds. Not that I get those trivial knowledge answers right (mostly I don't, so why do I like them so much?).
Any way, the answer to what makes up this new flock is coming momentarily. :) Have a great weekend everyone!
