Every time you feel in God's creatures something pleasing and attractive, do not let your attention be arrested by them alone, but, passing them by, transfer your thought to God and say: "O my God, if Thy creations are so full of beauty, delight and joy, how infinitely more full of beauty, delight and joy art Thou Thyself, Creator of all!

You can’t get to joy by making everything perfect. You can only get there by seeing in every imperfection all that’s joy.

  1. Love it all, from 57 to 73. #73 especially tickles me because it reminds me of being pregnant: the only time I have EVER liked orange juice. :)

  2. You're doing what we all SHOULD be doing on a regular basis. Being appreciative of the bounty that surrounds us. Thanks for these continual reminders which I enjoy so much! In doing so, you're putting out such good vibes . . . which will come right back atcha!!

  4. Mama Tea- Hehe! I always knew you were a quirky farm girl (in a good way, of course)! Orange juice, for most of us, is an enemy to pregnant women. Talk about heart burn! However, I'll never forget that first glass after each baby. Delightful! :)

Mama Pea- I'm glad you're enjoying these posts. I am too! They are changing the way I think. Now, I'm looking for things to be thankful for, and ways to be thankful in less than ideal situations. It's really fun. :)

Erin- I actually have two of them, but didn't know what they were until your posts. They're old with the labels almost entirely worn off, one was my grandmother's when she was a young wife, and it's still going strong. It's really tiny and handy for small batches. The other was given to us by a friend of my husbands. I could faintly read the last part of the word American on the label, and "Manitowoc, WI"! I knew they were awesome, I just didn't know what kind they were! I had to use both the large All American and the Presto when canning chicken on Saturday. The presto was giving me such a hard time, not sealing properly and leaking steam. I was so proud of the All American! No trouble, holds steady pressure with less adjusting of the flame, easy to use. You made a great choice! :)
