Every time you feel in God's creatures something pleasing and attractive, do not let your attention be arrested by them alone, but, passing them by, transfer your thought to God and say: "O my God, if Thy creations are so full of beauty, delight and joy, how infinitely more full of beauty, delight and joy art Thou Thyself, Creator of all!
- Nicodemus of the Holy Mountain

You can’t get to joy by making everything perfect. You can only get there by seeing in every imperfection all that’s joy.

Forty-four

That's how many blogs I follow (or attempt to). It's too many, but they're all good! I don't want to let any of you go, ever. I find such great information and am so entertained, encouraged, stretched, sharpened...affected in so many great ways by all of you. What a dilemma! :)

  1. They are addicting, aren't they? I WISH my blog list were that "small". Sometimes I feel like I need a day off just to read all my followed blogs!

  2. I understand completely! I feel bad sometimes when I don't comment on some because I'm so busy reading others', like I want to say "hey I'm still here reading you, I like you, I just can't always comment!" LOL... I haven't even surfed other blogs for over a year because I know my limits :)

  3. Yup, like Erin, I resist the temptation to look at others, but it's so tempting. Need more hours in the day!

The stuff in the jars was cucumber water. Really good on a hot summer day!

  4. I'd rather read ya'lls blogs than watch TV. Nothing but bad news out there. Here I'm always learning and laughing.

It's like sitting on a front porch with a bunch of friends. We may not solve all the worlds problems but we can still share and support each other.

  5. CR- :) It is addicting!

Erin and Lorie- I wish I had your discipline!

Great idea for a neat summer drink! I'm going to have to try it.

Tami- I'm so with you! These blogs are much more interesting and worth while than TV!

I had a quiet hour and read every blog I wasn't caught up on today. What a treat! No time for comments, but great reading! :)

  6. I hear ya! And I will second Tami and take blog reading any day over the TV. Except for the weather of course...gardeners need the weather :) Since we have been stricken with computer troubles lately, I am even more behind on posting/reading and it makes me feel horrible! So many people out there who inspire and bring smiles every day!

  7. I've been tempted to count how many blogs I follow ever since you did this post . . . but haven't gotten up the courage to do it because I might be overwhelmed . . . and feel some sort of weird guilt? But as so many of the gals have said before me, you all are my homesteading/homemaking family and mean so much to me. If I had to give up Internet access for some reason, there would be a big hole in my life.
