Every time you feel in God's creatures something pleasing and attractive, do not let your attention be arrested by them alone, but, passing them by, transfer your thought to God and say: "O my God, if Thy creations are so full of beauty, delight and joy, how infinitely more full of beauty, delight and joy art Thou Thyself, Creator of all!

Mama Pea's Rug Tutorial

I've been following Mama Pea's rug tutorial, and this is what I've got so far. It's hard to get good pictures of it because it's so long. I decided that I was going to start with a bang, meaning big. I started with a 24" chain for a rug that should be 4 by 6 feet when finished. I wonder when that will be... I'm making my rug out of recycled t-shirts with random colors. Mama Pea has been making hers out of cotton fabric left over from her quilting projects. Check it out at A Homegrown Journal
Thanks, Mama Pea! :)

  4. LOL! It's so amusing being told I'm amazing and my rug is awesome! Perhaps I should have waited until I'd actually finished it so as not to mar my image of amazingness. Spell checker recognizes my use of "amazingness" as "manginess". LOL! Now that's funny.
Thanks for your lovely and encouraging comments. I hope one day I can show you the finished rug in place. :)

  5. Oh, Patty, I LOVE the way that is looking. Great colors and it looks so soft and comfy. I kinda want to come over and lie down on it! You must have come into a bonanza of recycled t-shirts to make one that big! Keep us updated . . . I promise we won't get tired of seeing it grow!

    1. Thanks, Mama Pea. :) I'll definitely have to continue collecting t-shirts, but thankfully the recycle center is keeping me supplied with rejects. I'll keep you posted (when there's progress).
